Coastingthrulife I have the Jabra’s and just found last night that I could stream my Roku TV to my hearing aids using the Roku app (the TV remote tab) on my iPhone. Nice option and I don’t need the Jabra streaming device. Although, I am not sure if any other TV apps have this feature.I am on my third pair of Costco hearing aids. I don't remember the first manufacturer. Second pair was Phonak and Jabra now. Costco changes providers about every 3 years. Hearing aids will last 4-5 years max.
Phonak were battery and the Jabra is rechargeable. I liked the Phonak better because it would livestream from the computer which was easier than headphones. Jabra is programmed to only Apple devices (unless you buy their $299 transmitter). So, I wear headphones again.
Future hearing aid software will get a boost from government requirements that a wide range of public announcements (like airports, etc) will have to be "hearable" through hearing aids. And, Microsoft is supposedly going to enhance Windows to transmit allowing livestream. No firm timetable is what I have heard.
As others posted - they don't make your hearing perfect - just alot better than without them.
